I take your point on the performances, and I’d add the United game, so 2.5 games that have been a marked improvement.

I also think that the injuries / COVID have been very tough on us. It’s far from unusual for promoted sides to go through a slump at this time of year as squad size and depth of quality is tested, while promotion momentum has also ebbed away. Let’s judge him in a couple of months.

Personally, I think Smith would have got more points out of the first 5 games than we did under Farke. I always feel that, particularly for promoted teams, how the season starts off sets up how the whole of the rest of the season will follow. It’s so important to get some confidence boosting wins / points early as it takes the pressure off and allows players to play with more freedom. Webber needs to shoulder some of the responsibility there too, we didn’t have a finished squad until the end of the window when really we did need the business done early given we were making such major changes to squad composition and style.

Anyway, not much we can do about it now.
