Brentford are competing, so does almost every other promoted team, even if they don't spend huge amounts.

The problem is we have signed absolute dross. We've spent nearly £100m in the last three seasons and yet in that time we haven't made a single permanent signing who can really cut it at this level.

Its been a huge failure of recruitment.
