How were Derby so s**t?
If anything that sort of haul is more understandable now given the huge disparity?
14th to 19th were separated by 5 points, Birmingham in 19th had 35 points which has often been enough to stay up! Reading were relegated by a goal difference 3 worse than Fulham.
The league was relatively competitive on face value, except for Derby. Is the answer smoke and mirrors that most of the bottom 7 clubs points were artificially inflated by 5 or 6 points because Derby were giving them away?
