My beef with the loan system is that it doesn't aid natural progression.

So if we have a first-team injury crisis the next player from the Academy system is not necessarily the best, he is just the best one who is at Colney.

Do we really think that Sorensen is a better LB than McCallum? Prob not, but while McC is out on loan he doesn't get the chance to fill that vacancy.

I suspect that Famewo is, today, a better defender than Jon Tomkinson, but while Famewo is out on loan he loses his place on the rank to JT.

Our reputation for sending out good players on Loan (Morris, Godfrey) will be tarnished if we send out too many more who don't cut the mustard.
