I think I’m with the author though. The sooner the “elite” clubs f**k right off the better for absolutely everyone. Currently football is just a bit s**t (on average) for almost everyone, apart from supporters of Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City. Almost every fan starts the season knowing they have literally no chance of achieving anything of any particular note.

I think I’d love watching Norwich compete in a future league without the top 6 (or whatever) and a league where billionaires no longer has the remotest interest in spunking money into Wolves, Everton and f**king Newcastle.

If all the big clubs go then much smaller tv deals become inevitable, and there is no route to top European competition. Hence no incentive for that billionaires vanity project, or for evil despots to sport wash. Bingo. Things go back to how they were before Sky f**ked it all up. In fact, probably even better, as the biggest clubs of all are not around at all.

Sign me up.
