RE self-funding
Some seem to forget it's all very well getting new investment but investors will want to make a profit from loans to the club. The more in debt a club gets the more the investor can make from the interest repayments to themselves.
Therefore money can end-up repaying loans rather than on the team etc. An investor may want the club to owe debt to them as it means they can make more money for themselves from it.
Last summer NCFC spent on new players. The money wasn't spent very wisely.
