It’s definitely going to be a clear step or two backwards on the previous two championship squads. No Skipp, no Buendia and an older Pukki are the obvious problems. The midfield isn’t bad, but is weaker than previous vintages and lacks an outstanding talent, and the wings look weak too. You just wonder where the goals are coming from.
Generally it looked like a playoff team to me. A fair amount short of a top 2 team. That only changes if we have a player breakthrough from the youths and be that outstanding talent (as we had before with Godfrey, Todd before he went s**t) or if we pull a rabbit out the hat in the summer transfer market.
We’ll be in a fight for our lives to come back up though, rather than a pleasant romp to the title.
