e. I read not long ago that the UK average is about ?950. Ms AB's dress is about ?1,200, but she tried on dresses that were double that - I think you can essentially spend as much as you want. For a dress that only going to be wore once. My suit, in comparison is going to cost ?100 to hire.

We're paying ?350 for a harpist (!) for about four hours - that seems to be the going rate for a harpist. I'd expect a band to be a bit more expensive.

Budget your wedding breakfast etc on a per-head basis. All of the prices we got for places were per-head, and most places had different food packages and drinks packages.

The registrar will cost about ?250, but I assume you'll be able to get very specific costs from the norfolk council website. We did from barnsley council's - just google for "norfolk register service".

Our cake is costing ?350 - that's a three tier thing. I've no idea whether that's above or below average.
