Thanks all for the wildlife answers below
Small and Exile: no, no bird feeders or owt like that. Thing is, my first thought was it might be rats... but there's no signs of grease on the shed, no scratchmarks or signs of gnawing. No droppings or anything either - I don't know why, but I *thiiiiink* it ain't rats, tho I'll be damn sure to keep a close eye on it.
Pangler: it ain't your Tiger, the scousers robbed that.
I do like Tricky's suggestion, tho' there might be something in Arganth's idea too. A couple of yeras ago when I wandered into the back garden in the early hours, an animal hissed at me from beneath my trees.... no, not 'hissed', it was a sound I hadn't heard before. i described it to a guy I work with (who recognises wild animals and shoots them with an enthusiasm rarely seen outside porn films) said it sounded like a fox. I'd described it as a cat sound made by a dog.
So it *might* be a box, or a fadger. reeeeeally hope it ain't a rat - but then, two or three of my neighbours leave their rubbish bags out in their gardens.
Am I getting a bit Anna-ish now?
:o)
Thanks all.
