Will LFTs detect any variant (including future ones) of COVID? Or is it conceivable that

there might be a variant of this current coronavirus which isn't picked up by an LFT? If anyone knows the answer and can share it would be much appreciated.

We've all got cold symptoms currently (starting with my daughter coming home from school with a cough last Tuesday), however we're all testing negative on multiple LFTs.
