Exactly this - IMHO if the position was reversed Hamilton would not have passed Verstappen

As thiis is what distinguishes a true sportsman as does the position that Hamilton is taking that he doesn't want to have the championship awarded by the courts.

Verstappen/Horner/Marko et al know that this championship will forever be tainted as one that was stolen by rules being misapplied by Masi.

This leads to the other corruption in the SPOTY finalists. Whilst all are worthy, the sportsman who has shown the most personality this year is missing from the list and someone who has achieved a world title by nefarious means is likely to be awarded the International award. BBC bias at its best!
