But I thought that about Amadou. He was a proven CDM with a lot of minutes in the Spanish league, but it just never happened for him.
Gilmour has just been so disappointing compared to what I hoped. I believe teams are now targeting him with their press because he’s liable to cough the ball up cheap, and then isn’t able to stop the resulting break. He contributes little going forward and has made mistakes that have led directly to us conceding a number of goals.
I thought signing him was a master stroke, but it increasingly looks like he’s exactly what we don’t need. Based on his half season here, I will amazed if he makes it at Chelsea. I can see him ending up in Scotland where he will appear to be an outstanding player.
