I've drunk mostly decaf for over a decade
wholebean decaf is mostly great & there's now quite a lot of local coffee roasters doing this stuff.
Waitrose and Sainsburys both sell decent decaf options that, apart from a reduced buzz you'd be hard pressed to tell from the normal versions.
Fresh ground makes all the difference.
You can also get decaf green beans online that you can pan roast (as MIKEWALKER says) - can't say it's worth the effort personally, though is a bit cheaper and, if you dark roast it you'll get a trad 'strong coffee' vibe.
The roasting makes much more difference to the flavour than the beans themselves, in my experience.
