Sargent wasn’t going to be threading balls to him in a month of Sundays and wasn’t even close enough to win headers down to him.
The hold up player only really works if there is an ‘out’ for the possession he wins or protects.
Cantwell would be the solution when he is fit as he is far more intelligent than Sargent will ever be.
Idah could do the same job as Sargent in the interim but we are really going to be struggling for open play goals in the absence of a more aggressive and confident striker to partner Pukki.
Hopefully January will see us still within recoverable distance of Brentford/Leeds at al.
