Not unexpected sadly
There will be more of this sort of thing for a while. Eventually new strains will become less transmissible and drugs to treat The Infected will continue to improve. But I expect a jab or two each year for covid for the foreseeable honestly. It’s been a right bugger all in all but it could have been so much worse (imagine it was something like Ebola for example). At least we’ve got some kind of understanding of what systems do and don’t work faced with a pandemic.
Still and all, it could have waited, really, couldn’t it. Oh well.
