Webber will have been keeping track of plenty of in-work managers. It's his job. And Smith's record says he's much less of a risk than either Lampard or Knutsen.
This idea that apparently, it's not allowed for plans to change when more options become available is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read. Almost smacks of bitterness and rage that Webber, hopefully, is about to get his man.
