The budget we have makes no difference to the style of football we play

It has an impact on the players’ salaries and the transfers we can afford, but makes no difference to the coaching we use, drills we do, pre-match preparation of the players (unless you count the quality of the projectors showing the videos, the make of the kit, the buildings at Colney, but we’re talking diminishing returns here…) and the fitness or otherwise of the players. There is no excuse for the poor passing of the last few weeks, the inexplicable change in tactics and lack of effort to reintegrate our most talented player. Whatever the reason for those, it certainly isn’t the club’s finances.
