he said (I can't find the interview) that the plan was such that he wouldn't get rid of DF after 5/10 bad games - he said the plan was more deeply rooted, longer term, they all knew the direction etc etc. So - either he panicked and threw out that plan - which I think is possible, but wld be problematic - or of course he was telling porkies - which is also possible (and not hard to understand).
