The implied expectation that a female manager would only ever be given a chance at lower levels first? Which would indeed be a step down.
A PL or top Champs appointment would be a more suitable step across I suspect (given exposure, profile, quality of players)
It won’t happen but I’d love it to happen. There’s no reason (other than opportunity) why an experienced female coach is any worse as a prospect than any of the names bandied around so far (or many of the managers that we have turned to in the not too distant past).
