Yep, agree - politics is waaaay down any list.

Probably a nice guy, obviously a hugely experienced football person but the stepping stone issue is close to insurmountable to me.

There will be so much noise around him which would consign us to afterthought half the time.

Managers' relationships with clubs/fans is often smoke and mirrors, I'm not naive - but there is simply no way he would come here without thinking where this might ultimately lead him.

That was never, ever how it felt with Farke and that connection, while not necessarily the difference between winning and losing is actually really important if a manager is to have the slack they need to create something special.
