Happiness = Reality - Expectation
Obviously this season has been well and truly s**t, but part of the reason why it all feels so bad is the expectation level that was built up. We were told that the relegation before this had paid for past sins. This time would be different. We would spend money, and we did. We had learned important lessons from last time. We were going to recruit players ready to go. If offered 17th on day 1, we wouldn't take it.
I was not expecting us to rip up any trees and start giving out spankings. But, yes, I was expecting a lot better than this. We're just getting exactly the same output as last time - if anything, it's perhaps worse than last time.
