it kind of did work when we actually tried it
the first 5-10 games of our previous Prem season we played some great football. Lost a few games, won some, but scored a lot and looked competitive.
Then we had a defensive injury crisis, got bullied by a few teams, and Farke completely changed things, switching to a much more defensive and solid looking team. Since then, we've barely been able to score, and haven't improved much defensively.
