Daniel Farke’s pre-Chelsea press conference is about to begin! Updates to follow
--------------------------------------------------------------

DF: It's not a season-defining game but it could be a boost for us. Chelsea away is probably the toughest task in world football. The odds are against us but there is never a 100% guarantee on the outcome.

DF: Thomas Tuchel is one of the greatest coaches on this planet. His CV speaks for itself. He has worked for Dortmund, PSG, and now Chelsea. Last time we met was in the Summer at the manager’s meeting, looking forward to seeing him tomorrow.

DF: We deserved to win the game against Brighton. We are in a proper shape and back-to-back clean sheets. You can’t expect to win at Stamford Bridge but it’s possible.

DF: I don't think it's a positive when good players are out of the game. I hope Timo and Romelu can return soon. Chelsea always have a top class solution to come in, like Havertz for example.

DF: Zimmermann is still out and will have ankle surgery on Monday. We expect him to be out of training for six weeks.
Gilmour is of course not available for tomorrow, on loan from Chelsea.

DF: My strikers know how to score. This is what they have done all their life. It's important not to overthink it.

DF: Todd can train but he’s not a topic for tomorrow. We need physical players with pace in order to be competitive and it's tougher for creative players like Todd at the moment.

DF: Sadly, I have to say that in the last couple of months I can't remember Todd completing a full week of training. He has missed too many sessions.

DF: Really in the last 2 months he has missed a lot of training sessions. For personal reasons, then some problems with his Achilles and his ankle. He just needs to train now. You cannot be 98% ready in the PL. Unless you are Ronaldo.

DF: We are speaking a lot to the young players. They need a bit more tough love. Although, Todd is not 18 more. You need to show consistency with availability and be prepared to fight on the pitch. Every player who wants to feature needs to be in a top class shape.

DF: I have a great relationship with the Todd and all the players. But he is not 18 now. He is in his 20s and he knows what he has to do to come more into our thoughts.

DF: If you can't work on your training because you're not in a good shape then you aren't mentally ready to play at the top game. You can only be mentally ready if you're physically ready. You cannot decide you are fit and expect to come straight back in.

DF: You could say the same about Sam Byram. He just had his first full week of training in 18 months. Todd was not out that length but like with Sam, you cannot predict how soon or when he comes more into our thoughts.

DF: Dan Barden has been overwhelmed by the messages and response to the news of his testicular cancer diagnosis. When one of our family members are in difficult times, then we are there to back them.

DF: He is a fighter and willing to fight. We can't wait to have him back in training and we are sure he has a bright future. The NCFC family will give the support he needs.

DF: Chelsea were impressive against Malmö. Obviously in these type of games you have to accept there will be periods that Chelsea will be on top.

That's all from the boss this afternoon.
