The BIG problem with next season is ...

even if we:
a) have a fit r-b (who isn't Hughes or the 73-yr old Craig Fleming)
b) sign a decent r-mid
c) steer clear of injuries

a decent start guarantees nothing.

Burnley spent pretty much all of 2001/2 in the top 6 (they were at xmas with 50 pts from 25 games) but finished outside the Play Offs.
