We have a lot of players out on loan at the U23 level

Less of an excuse at U18 level I guess.

Also, worth bearing in mind that the vast majority of the U18 team won’t make it as professional footballers, what would be a good return from that squad to make it through to our first team? 1 maybe 2? We don’t need to have a brilliant U18 team, we just need a couple of brilliant players.
