Meh.
The Simpsons has been below par for years, nothing matches the glory of series five and six which demonstrated much genius in every line. Gervais's episode seemed like no more than a US vehicle for his own talents, and too many self-congratulatory references to The Office. The bit where the cameraman proudly tells his assistant that he got some great footage of gervais calling his son a bastard did make me laugh.
