funny old game innit, looking at last seasons teamsheets, he realised immediatly that jonson was not gonna do a job at right wing, and that Bently was no winger, suddenly he had us playing a diamond formatuion 5 games into the season!!!
He tried a new formation we had never used in the previous season FIVE games into the season!!
admittadly we had a tough start (man utd, newcastle and arsenal) and after 'less than average results agauinst these teams' he switched to teh diamond which failed......

donkerty played 6 games up top for us..... before finally after 8 games Leon was given a start!!

all the while David Bently was reguarly played in his favoured Left Midfield position (until mcveigh came on for jonson and he switched mid game - a standard tactic at this time)
around this time (12 games in) came Helvegs opportunity to start again (he started in right midfield with striker jonson played left midfield)

next game shackell got a start, hucks was moved to left midfield, jonson right midfield, and the doc and Svenson started up front!!

NEXT game man city away we finally put out more of a team, svenny partnering the confidence destroyed Leon with hucks left, jonson right and holt/francis midfield

next game jonson is subbed at half time as usual - this time for fellow right winger Henderson....
