If the UK Govt had allowed a private company to frack and produce gas in the UK
What makes you think that company would sell gas into the wholesale market at less than the prevailing price to keep your energy bill down?
Second question, do you think adding some fracking production would markedly change supply/demand balance within the GB wholesale market, given how interconnected gas wholesale markets are now (in practice the GB market is an interconnected part of a wider European market, and its probably fair to consider that part of a global market)?
