The Waving Man.

I was pleased but saddened to see The Waving Man again a couple of weeks ago. Some of you will know who I mean. Years ago when we were teenagers riding mopeds we’d pass this lad who stood outside his house, just north of North Elmham on the way to Guist. He’d wave at passing cars and motorbikes.
On a trip back from Cromer a couple of weeks ago, about 10 at night, we drove past the house and there he was, a middle aged man, fully bedecked in Hi-Viz just standing out there waving to cars.
I’ve since found out there is a Facebook page dedicated to him.
I hope he’s happy, he could be one of the most contented people in the country, doing exactly what he wants to do all day, everyday, waving to passing cars.
As far as I know he does no harm to anyone, although the neighbours have put up signs asking cars not to beep their horns.
Good luck to the “characters” of this world, we need you.
