Yeah thing is I don't think Gilmour fits the old formation

Clearly Farke felt that Rupp and Dimi were not doing their job in the system.

Rupp was good in the 4231 but who would play the Skipp role? Not sure Lees-Melou is it. Sorensen the most obvious. I'm assuming he was relatively badly hit by covid though.

I think we really need to think about 3-4-3, 3-4-1-2, 3-5-2... I wonder if he's making excuses a little for the recruitment. Pretty clearly some legs in midfield and a new CB were needed and pursued and here we are two weeks into the season 10 days left still waiting.
