Snow Patrol are nowhere near the drearyness of the other 4. Other than 'Run' from their third album, which is slightly dreary (but a decent enough track). They are extremely diverse, and a lot heavier than those you've listed. (admittedly not hard). On their 3rd album, check out 'Tiny Little Fractures'

Also, check out 'Songs for Polarbears', in particular Starfighter Pilot. 'When its all over we still have to clear up' is also a decent album, but not as good as their other 2 old albums, or their new one.
