I saw Sturridge play about 10 years ago

He was on loan at Bolton I think, so must have been playing under Big Sam. The game I saw was Bolton away at Newcastle (I went with my brother in law, a Geordie). I think the game finished 1-1 from memory.

Sturridge scored, but that aside, he was absolutely superb. Especially his movement. The Newcastle players just had no clue where he was half the time, and had he been playing alongside better players Bolton would have won.

My BIL and me concluded that he was the best player on the pitch by an absolute mile.
