This makes total sense in the quality vs quantity equation.

Norwich will never sell that many shirts around the world but teams like Liverpool and Man Utd will sell a ton.

This makes the advertising real estate on the front of the shirt more valuable for them.
They make more from that than the shirt sales themselves so would rather farm out the worldwide distribution so they can get the sponsor out there.
Plus they can probably cut a much better deal than Norwich could with a top manufacturer.

Norwich is looking for the low volume/high profit model so they cant use distributers or retailers as this will greatly eat into the margins.
Keeping it in house means we keep most of the profits but we also do all the work.
