Is it right that Southgate's position has been guaranteed

Regardless of performance in these championships? Seems a bit odd to me. At what point should his work in progress, started a mere 5 years ago, become something a bit more like, er, an actual work?

PS- Hope Harry's started his run into the box - time's running short.
