We seem to be dealing with a more extreme version of the lampard Gerrard dynamic with Foden/Grealish/mount
And
Sancho/rashford/sterling

Need someone in that anchoring role (rice or alongside) keeping things ticking over, pulling the strings.

The lack of runs, the lack of passes into runs was really noticeable last night.

They look like decent players playing alongside each other, not really together.

I find it hard to work up much enthusiasm. Sure there's good players in the team on paper, but they look less of a unit than even when Southgate took over.

Meh, we'll see how it goes.
