Given there’s a T20 WC later in the year I can see why they’re focusing loosely on that, but the Ashes aren’t that far away and we desperately need to try and find put beat 11 and get those players into form. With so little county championship cricket before the next test, there’s very little chance for anyone to stake a claim for a place or find form.
Seeing our ODI side rise to the top of the rankings and win the WC was great, but the test team has suffered. I care about both but at this moment in time it’s the test team I want to see get it’s act together and start playing well (or at least competently, which would be a start)
