Expect he had a release clause in his contract if a certain fee was offered (as no doubt Max and Todd have as well) and once the figure was met we had no choice in the matter (and almost certainly expected it). Then it comes down to wages. Villa seem to have offered the most. Now I know some folks ain't happy about it being them but they have a to quality keeper, England centre back, England centre forward a good Scottish midfielder and many other higj quality players. With 50+ million for Grealish being sold they can expand further. European Champion Winners as well. Loads of history. If there is such a thing as a Sleeping Giant team it is Aston Villa. We like to see ourselves as their peers but we aren't. Now he had he moved to Southampton, Palace, Brighton or Burnley it would be different. Thanks Emi, but now let's see who we get with the money.
