Pieman63 missed an important bit of info.
Max's cousin Rolando started to get a bit of game time for Huddersfield and I believe corrected one of their journos as to the correct pronunciation.
This got picked up as things do and so Max was asked and confirmed it. Pretty clearly when he broke through so young he didn't have the confidence to correct our local journos ans that's that. Personally I think out lot have been a bunch of bellends about it ever since.
I know Aarons and Arrons (first names) and you pronounce those differently. Not hard is it. A bit of recognition that "its obvious when you actually look at it" wouldn't have gone amiss from Butler and even Goreham.
