I think its a very fair point. Most either didn't understand or
decided to turn a blind eye to who was buying their club. Did Chelsea fans care about how and where Abramovich got his money? Do Man City fans care about Sheik Mansour and the human rights of the UAE? Some do of course but the vast majority only want to win. (Has anyone ever heard a dissenting voice from their left-leaning celebrity fans Liam Gallagher and Johnny Marr?) But regardless fan power such as you find in Germany could've prevented the buy outs and so I think that fans have to shoulder some of the blame although I also agree with KB too because the creation of the EPL and its greed created an environment which made it attractive to financially invest almost irrespective of the football. It's a complete bloody mess but my only gripe is this same discussion needed to be had years ago because it seems to be okay while its just the EPL but effectively its no different to the new proposal. Neither have, nor had football and fans as the priority.
