I'm quite excited about them all sodding off. I think its a real
opportunity to get domestic football back to a real competition. At present the only real ambition of most clubs is to get promoted to the PL and then not be relegated. (This is why it makes me chuckle when fans from the middle and lower reaches of the PL try to insult us by calling us 'yo-yo'. Have they any idea the fun we've had over the last few seasons? Far, far better than being stuck in mid-table PL obscurity). But if they clear off, the PL suddenly becomes a less attractive proposition for TV and as a consequence less money comes in. Other speculative investment opportunists will take a look at their club's likely financial return and pull-out with a nett result that the gulf between the divisions would be greatly reduced and football could return to being sport again with true competition. I realise that there are many flaws in my (hopeful) theories but as someone who loves NCFC but hates what football has turned into, I would love to see it.
