Hard to say if we'd have scored with two up front

I think we were trying to play like Arsenal do in the Champions League with a 4-5-1 but with Hughes and Hucks breaking forward, (and Henderson in the second half). First half I thought Hughes played really well going forward in that attacking midfield role, but Earnshaw did hardly touch the ball. Part of the problem is that he runs offside all the time. There were a lot of times when had he been onside we'd have been clean through - probably about 3 times.

Robinson played very much the holding role, and passed well today. I was impressed by him. Etuhu seemed a bit lost at times, but did okay at other times.

It's almost as if we are compensating for a weak midfield by playing 3 in the middle - but Hughes is definitely effectively breaking forward.

Playing 2 up front in the second half Earnshaw was more in it when Jarvis came on for Hughes. We probably did look like scoring more with this formation and definitely had more shots. But then we were chasing the game so hard to say (goals change games etc etc) and we were caught on the break by Wednesday on a couple of occasions (more so when we went 3-4-3).

Basically, I have no idea if we'd have scored playing two up from the start - but probably yes - but maybe let more in?
