RE Pies at football
I was once at a match whereby pies were given away free before the match. The pies were thrown from the pitch into the home end behind a goal. It was Bristol City v Forest. They were Bowyers pork pies. I think it was a marketing gimmick because Forest had a player called Ian Bowyer.
The players went onto the pitch and Peter Shilton was bombarded with pork pies.
