I wish him well. No hard feelings on my part at all.
The point is: he didn't have the players and he certainly didn't have the foundations. That's why, at the time, I mocked the idea of playing 'the Norwich City way' - because you can't do that without having that approach in place across the whole club. All of which has since been established beyond my wildest dreams.
But the other point is: he didn't 'fit' our club at all, and he doesn't know any way other than playing so conservatively. So he'll always be limited.
Maybe his time even at Championship level has passed. He's certainly taken on a club which has a smell of death about it and has been going nowhere for over 20 years now.
But he did what he could: which was good (or at least, decent) for a period. He's just another part of our history now.
