I do have sympathy with him, if as it's suggested, his crime was telling close friends of his transfer (entirely reasonable, I think) and that he hadn't benefitted from any if the bets they then placed.
As the writer of the article says, Bookies, rather than blubbing, should just not offer a market for these types if bets if they're open to abuse. It's not as if there isn't a ton of other stuff people can bet on.
