I think "we don;t need to sell" is (or certainly was at the time) true

but I think the club will choose to sell in order to get cash in for these players at a timewhen their stock is high and will hoard most of the cash to see us through the next few seasons if we don't get promoted again.

The budgeted profit of £16m will have been mainly wiped out by covid. Lewis sale should cover that. So I think with that sale we are more or less back where we planned to be this summer but now obviously we have a whole season of no fans to deal with. The more ST holders who let the club keep their money as payment for next season instead will presumably make a big difference to our flexibility now and in the jan window.
