I don't think he's saying it can't

(though he is a grumpy soul so he may be). He was pointing out that you said it "certainly does" work in the Championship. "Certainly can" is not the same as "certainly does" (of course pretty any style can work if the players you have play it well). I suspected your intention was to mean 'can' rather than 'does' but the doom-mongers will leap on mistakes like that. Despite GoBB's whingeing I can't believe anyone thinks we are CERTAIN to do well this season, and although he says "too many" assume we will I haven't seen one. He just seems to dislike anyone being excited ever.
