Oh God
This brings back terrible memories!! Had terrible trouble with some in our attic / wall cavity a few years ago.
Worst part was when could hear it in the cavity gnawing, presumambly just cm's away from daughters head as she was sleeping.
Took months to get rid of them, this after getting cavity wall insulation, shoving rolled up chicken wire into the tops of the gutter down pipes and installing a wooden block wrapped in chicken wire in the facia/soffit where our semi joined the neighbours as we just tried to block any access into ours.
My wife was often in tears at the frustration of it all - the amplified noise in the early hours of the morning - scratching, squeals, scurrying - really did do your head in.
