Villa staying up (if that happens)
While objectionable in so many ways has got to be net positive for us.
If they go down their owners will surely just spend another £100m+ safe in the knowledge that there’s no meaningful FFP penalty (maybe a fine that they’ll simply pay as a cost of doing business). They already look to have a much stronger squad than us so that’s just one of the promotion spots taken up right out the gate.
Bournemouth and Watford generally look like much better opposition for us. Alongside no Leeds or WBA (probably) the league hardly looks terrifying.
