Just a comment on Jamal Lewis post from below...

He’s a bit of a funny one for me. I’ve never really got the hype around him. He’s a decent player, don’t get me wrong and I do like him a lot. He’s one for me that is really good when he’s one on one with an attacker out wide but once he gets turned inside he just can’t recover very well. I think that will come though with experience.

Also defending corners or free kicks he is pretty abysmal (like most of our defenders though to be fair). He’s one that especially stands out every time as he gets out muscled far too easily. When he does get near, he jumps and sort of turns his shoulder/back into the ball, rather than keeping an eye on it and getting on the end of it. You can see him watching his opponent rather than tracking the ball. Again I think this is something where he can learn with experience and some good defensive coaching.

He’s one that’s still young with potential in future and it’s that potential I think which is where his value is right now. He’s done well in the couple of seasons he’s had in the first team but for me there’s been a lot of repeating the same mistakes. This next season is now one of the most important in his career, where he needs to start to show he can learn and adapt his game if he’s going to be a top level player. At the moment he has potential but lacks the key attributes to be a defender in that premier league bracket.
