Going down (almost certain whatever we'd prefer!) absolutely carries no guarantees. Chumps football is a different game in so many ways. However we'd be in a really good position to make the most of it next season. Also, once crowds can go back, more games to go to :)
Staying up promises more of the same struggle. However our finances would be that much more secure and assuming we can afford to spend a bit more on defence and the back of midfield in particular we'd be better set up. I think next season would be better than this; though we will go down again eventually of course. Everyone does at some point - I used to say except the top few and Stoke, but...
I was genuinely upset after the last game and I've mentally written off the rest of this season. Rationally I think we're in a good place as a football club whatever happens the rest of this season. Emotionally I hate it when we lose and of course I want us to stay up!
